Too many hats.
This is video of me driving the bus back to the fab shop after a long days work.Jane and I ride together to work so I drop her off at the turnstyle to swipe her card to walk in the place. I go to another gate and drive in and pick her up. Then we go back to the our work site. While she is fixing a pot of coffee in the breakroom , I start the bus and go back up to the turnstyle....
At 6:50 AM I bring the bus back to the fab area for our morning safety meeting. Then after that ,I take those that work down along the road installing pipe in place, down to there work area and leave the bus there. Then at noon I go down there and bring the bus back to the break room for lunch...Then after lunch I take them back and leave the bus there once again..and ride back to the fab shop with my foreman generally. Then at 5pm I go down and pick them up and bring them to the shop...then at 5:15 I takethem back up the gate to clock out....then I come back to the shop and get my pickup and drive out.....
WHEW!!!
In the meantime remember, Im trying to keep these guys busy in the fabshop ...this could get crazy er.
Ive been sick with this flu stuff for about a week but I think Ive about got it whipped. I here Jane coughing
in there now so she is still fighting it.....we just finished working 8 days in a row to make up for snow days. From last Thursday thru today Friday so we are looking forward to sleeping in in the morning....nite all.

The big Thaw.

Well we are paying for all the frozen precipitation we have had over the last two weeks. Its time for all the twenty-some inches of snow to melt. In other words the water that fell from the sky over the past two weeks is about to finally hit the ground.....all at the same time. Ive been trying to get all the water away from the fab shop. This morning we had quite the ice skating rink.

This is all ice before daylight.....It got up 62 today. The first thing I did was put on my rubber boots.

They brought me a mud pump at about 10 o'clock when all this started melting. So I pumped several thousand gallons today.

Also our bus driver who is also a welder has decided to go back to Beaumont. So guess who got volunteered to do it.....so after some additional paperwork with the refinery ....I can now actually drive in the refinery in my vehicle so that I can get the bus and bring it to the gate to bring everybody in......I'm thinking they are going to get someone else to do it here in a few days when another guy can find his driver's license.....He mistakenly left them at home in Texas. He is a forklift operator so he's already familiar with driving around in the refinery....it is quite a maze....

At present I'm fighting the flu or something so my voice is about gone and I am very tired......I'm still over the fab shop and they brought in another fitter to help me get it all done since now I have 3 welders in the shop instead of the 2 I had before....I also have a couple of guys that are just "helpers" to grind stuff and bring me fittings and things out of storage..........and all I wanted to do was come out here and help a fitter.

Cabin Fever....gotta get out and look around Tulsa.

Well I went out and checked out the conditions in Tulsa yesterday on Saturday ...went down to the river and looked around ....there were people jogging on the paths....between the snow drifts....then I went to a boat and rv show that was packed out.....Ice was sliding off the building so some entrance/exits were closed to the building. Today, Sunday the sun isn't coming out and we may get snow.:-(  The meeting was cancelled today....It took Keith 3 hours yesterday evening late to get the snow off of the K.H. Lot but there is alot of ice under it....we really needed some sun today.
Here is the video from down on the river....

When I went to the boat show I saw some boats...some big...some little....

Oh and I also found out you can have sliding glass patio doors and a front porch on your 5th wheel now..

Also found out what you do with your kids when they are driving you nuts on your house boat....you put them in an uh.....Isolation Chamber.......

And of course what would a trip to Oklahoma be without some good ole bull riding.....This cowgirl reminded me of Heather so I had to capture here epic ride on video.....
And she got right back on and rode it again.

Clearly with all this time off I have way to much time for blogging.

Bridge Over Troubled Water

Well, Once again it is snowing....they are talking another couple of inches. I took a walk down the road here about a half mile or so to the arkansas river.  I just went there on google maps and went to street view to see what this normally looks like... her is the link. Just open another tab in your browser and copy and paste this link in the address bar.

Once you are looking at the picture  you can "drive on down the road.... either by clicking on the road or using the arrow keys on the keyboard....sometimes you have to hold the crtl key while you push the arrow keys. I walked down south to the river bridge....
As you will see in the video it looks very different today than when the google map van drove through.....well the gas stations are beginning to run out of gas so I'm going to go contribute to the problem by filling up the Geo Tracker.........Here's the video.....Yea Yea Yea, I know ...its February 4th not 5th......

Pictures of Snow in Coweta, Oklahoma

I went to WalMart today and took a few pics as I came back thru town at sunset. They were out of Bread....
they had a little water left.
And nobody apparently wanted the milk with the pink lids.

Out of luck if you want eggs.
but they had a specialdid have plenty of snow for free by the truck load.
took some pics in downtown coweta as I came back home.
neither snow nor dark of night can stop the pizza man from making pizza
If you can find a place to park.
Hmm I know I parked the tracker around here somewhere.
A chilly sidewalk stroll. If you get my drift.
Traffic's getting to heavy. I'm going home.

Workin in a Winter WonderLand

Well the 76 degree weather on Sunday was nice but short-lived. On Monday morning when I went to work it was 34 degrees. We were told when we left monday evening that we would not work Tuesday and possibly Wednesday....so we'll see about that.....it looks like Thursday may be out too due to the fact that its supposed to be below zero without the windchll.
As Im sitting here typing ..they are saying they have had a roof collapse at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.....waiting on an update.....also are getting 50 to 60 miles and hour....as the snow decreases the wind is supposed to increase.....took a few videos with the iphone. Will post them...
While waiting on this video to upload. I Look out and see its snowing horizontal again so apparently it isnt over yet. They are trying to plow the roads but it just drifts back in.......I'll get some pics maybe later if I go out riding in Ketih's snowplow truck.....that should be interesting....This MAY start melting Saturday...we'll see.

Well the sun finally came out and I went out and took this video....record breaking snowfall.

and James was wanting to see the road so here it is.
Went out today and worked on the plow. It wouldn't raise up for him. I found out it had a little filter screen inside that was stopped up. Once I cleaned that out it went back to working fine...It only pumps to lift the plow....it just releases pressure and falls when you lower it. Had to change the position of the light shining on the water softener outside to thaw part of it out this morning. The tracks you see in the video are from Keith's 4wd backhoe. It is a nice one with a  nice heated cab. It is down at Napa store now where he left it  after cleaning their lot while I fixed his plow for him. He had some work I could have done with it today to make some money cleaning a truck parking area but I decided not to get on a piece of equipment I was not familiar with on someone elses property not knowing where the ditches or curbs were.
Keith and Jane are still gone in the truck now at 6pm they are way behind on their plowing....phone wont quit ringing. I talked to her and they were going thru tulsa on expressway....one lane with snow on each side higher than the plow. They have people wanting to plow their lots but they have lots of abandoned cars sitting in the streets and lots just locked up and walked away from. Hard to get around them to plow.
Jane talked to our boss at work and it may be next monday before we can go back to work. Any way heres a short video of the driveway and how the snow plow works...you can also move the switch left and right to angle the blade...i forgot to mention that in the video.
I will say this....I bought some expensive long underwear at BassPro this week and today I went out with nothing but my carhart overalls on over them and was just fine....so they work pretty good.
